Nuns of the Order of the Most Holy Annunciation
Community Life
Following
Christ more closely and loving Him intensely the sisters, basing their lives on
the beatitudes in the gospel, strive for perfection in love and joy in giving
themselves totally for the glory of God and the salvation of mankind.
God loved the world so much that He gave His Only Son (John 3:16) so that, in
the mystery of the Incarnation of the Redeemer, all people clothed in Christ, be
adopted as sons and daughters and become one with Him (see Gal. 3: 26-28).
The nuns are called to achieve the ideal set by the Blessed Mother Foundress in
perfect communion of life, like a real family full of joy about the presence of
the Lord because, as He himself says: “Where two or three meet in my name, I
am be there among them” (Mt 18:20).
In the Order, due to their profession, there is a single category of nun and
real equality in their dignity and actions, and
as
a result of this equality all cooperate in building up the Body of Christ and
the good of the community and the Order,
according to the condition and duties
assigned to each (see canon 208).
Each one gives the community their natural gifts and the grace they have
received for the good of all, cooperating responsibly and in religious harmony
of intent in the healthy growth of community life, so that “… there may not be
disagreements in the body, but each part may be equally concerned for all the
others” (1 Cor 12:25).
Under the vigilant, caring guidance of the Mother Prioress, community life
proceeds serenely and fruitfully in the variety of gifts and duties, and the
nuns cooperate in creating an atmosphere of simplicity, joy, humility, and
loving care that reigned in the Family in Nazareth, their example, generously
embracing the cross with Jesus Christ every day.
Community life, sustained by prayer, grows and becomes stronger by meditating on
the Word of God.
There is active participation in the Liturgy, especially in celebrating the
Eucharistic Mystery in which, by means of the Body and Blood of Christ, the nuns
unite with Him and one another.
